I thought that this was a pretty awesome quote! It totally fits me and the things my family come up with. Not only do I think it fits my family, but... okay fine! I'll say it! The ART world! When I first started my major in the Arts, I thought people were quite weird when we did critiques. What is all this business talking about how this piece of art makes you FEEL? WEIRD totally weird to me at first. I guess I didn't know what I was expecting when I started these art classes.

But whoda thunk it!? I'm one of them now and i'm starting to think that way when I look at art. I also like the typography in this piece of work. I can't remember who did this poster, but check out the different fonts and how well they fit together! Okay i'll just stop while I'm ahead. This artist who designed this quote by Dr. Suess was in an interview. The person who was interviewing him asked him this question:
What advice would you give to anyone starting out in a similar field?

Cynicism and sarcasm should be left at the door, you have to be prepared to do the little jobs, the free jobs and the jobs that you don't really want to do. Enthusiasm is infectious and when mixed with good manners plus an original style you can't go wrong, as the last client will remember you and pass you on to the next, before you know it you will have a bulky folio and bright future.

I thought that was some pretty good advice! I know I will think of that quite often if I want to be successful in my field.

Now I feel really bad that I do not have this artist's name. As soon as I find it, I will all let you know so you can see some of his other work!

I know it's late.....

...but it's better than never, right? Easter is not over BUT if you aren't a fast sewer -get projects done fast like me, then this will be too late for Easter. CHECK THIS OUT! This Fabric Easter basket I found while blog surfing. How cool are these!? Now that I come to think about it, my sisters and I had these same kind of baskets when we were growing up. I wish I had a picture of them to show you, but I don't have mine with me.

I'm not to familiar with different fabric companies, but I have really come to like Moda A LOT, and I do mean a lot. When I went home the other weekend to spend time with my family that I don't get to see that often, my mom, sister and I went shopping for fabric because my mom is going to make me a quilt. Of all the colors and patterns I really liked Moda. It's called Hello Betty -retro by Moda. Love it! Here are some examples that I found that can kind of give you an idea of what the Hello Betty line looks like.

This is the pattern that I picked out. I like it because it's something that I haven't seen much of. What do you think? I want to make time this summer to do stuff like this. Who's in with me!?
Check out Moda Fabrics blog. It's hard not to keep looking. Maybe i'll learn some patience if I start this new interest up. :)

Hello April!

And I say bring on the sunshine. Even April showers is fine if that means no snow. Rain is better than snow, right? It's been awhile since I have blogged.

This is what I'm looking forward to in the month of April:
1. St. George this weekend with the whole family! Which consists of bike rides, pool, reading, and of course warmth and sunshine!
2. I'm doing a combined shower for two of my friends from high school.
3. AND I'm doing another shower for another friend who lives next door to me the next day.
3. Only 3 more full weeks of school and I'm done for the semester!
4. I move into a new apartment complex with new roommates at the end of the month. Which means I will have to make new friends! -exciting but nerve racking.
